@Annie Thank you for the fantastic article and you're really onto something here! I've been wondering how a life optimized for delight might look like. Here are some ideas I've come up with over coffee this morning:
- more deliberate choices
- slower
- lots of tinkering
- taking a bit more time with people
- asking questions, listening
I can also imagine that there would be situations where you would need to convince others that you're optimizing for efficiency (which one might actually be doing, circuitously).
But there’s definitely something in the air about this concept. Oliver Burkeman’s Lists are menus and Elizabeth Filips' How to Learn Anything Fast are worth a look and appeared just this week.
